Mizoram is the southernmost state of northeast India that falls in the foothills of Himalayas. It is a remote state and difficult to access. However, you can reach Mizoram from two means of communications : by air and by road. There is no rail network in the state.
How to Reach Mizoram By Air
Mizoram has only one airport : Lengpui Airport, near Aizawl that is linked with Kolkata airport : a 40 minute flight. The alternative option is from Kolkata to Silchar (Assam), which is only 200 k.m. away from the capital Aizawl. Getting into Mizoram by Train/Rail
Mizoram has only rail link at Bairabi railway station that is used only for freight carrier. For commuters, the nearest railway station is Silchar (Assam). You can take the bus or taxi service from there to reach Mizoram.
