JSP Array

Array is defined as the set of similar type of data in series. The Array can be String, int or character kind of datatypes. The below example gives you a demo on use of Array in JSP.

Understand with Example

The Tutorial illustrate an example from 'JSP Array'. To understand the example we create a page directive, that describe the language used is Java. The JSP code include a Scriptlets that is used to embed the java expression. In this given example, we have define Scriptlets that include a String Array consists of five elements. When you want to iterate through this array, you have to use for loop to fetch the element one by one. The loop runs repeatedly till the length of variable i become less than equal to array length. The array.length is used to determine the total number of elements in the given array. The out.print is used to print the array elements on the browser.

Here is the code of jspArray.jsp

<%@ page language="java"%>
<%
String[] array={"Java",".NET","PHP","C/C++","PERL"};
%>
<html>
<body>
<%
int i=0;
out.print("Array Elements are:<br>");
for(i=0;i<array.length;i++)
{
out.print(array[i]+"<br/>");
}
%>
</body>
</html>

Output will be displayed as:
