Tourism in Delhi

Delhi is a nice tourist destination. Tourists from through out the world are willing to explore the varied cultural heritage of the city. To cater to the increasing demand of the tourist the Government is making many efforts to make the experience of the tourist a never forgetting one. Initial the tourist destinations in Delhi were limited to the old monuments and temples such as Qutub Minar, Red Fort (famously known as the Lal Quila), Humayu Tomb etc But with the on going development many new places of tourist?s interest have come up such as the Lotous Temple.

Not to forget the various shopping destinations which are a great attraction for the foreign tourist. We have many shopping markets, which have existed from a long time such as the Chandni Chowk (famous for garments) Chawri Bazaar, Sarojini Nagar market etc? Also, new to the shopping destinations, is the Mall culture. There are many new Shopping Malls, which offer all most all-international brands where the tourist from across the world can find brands of their like.

The next concern on a tourists mind is the food. Even though Delhi is famous for north Indian food, but one can find eating joints offering all kind of cuisine from throughout the world. Few of the places offering great food are Karim?s in chandni chowk for non-vegetarian food, chanakya puri for Chinese food, B.K. Dutt market in rajouri garden for north Indian food.

To solve the problem of lodging, one can find various options from 7star hotels such as the Ashoka, Le Maridian, Shangri-La etc. to many local 3star hotels.

All in all we can say the Delhi, is a great tourist destination. And with the coming up the Metro Train commuting for the tourist has not only become easier but also inexpensive and safe. And tourism in Delhi has reached stratospheric levels.
