Hi,

Elasticsearch does not allow to rename the index.

But you can copy index into another index and then delete old index.

Here is command to copy one index into another:

POST /_reindex
{
  "source": {
    "index": "oldindexname"
  },
  "dest": {
    "index": "new_indexname"
  }
}

Above command will copy index oldindexname into new_indexname.

Following command can bee used to delete index:

DELETE oldindexname
