Setting up Jdk1.5.0_14
Download jdk-1_5_0_14-windows-i586-p.exe from https://sdlc1d.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=05B140D09401F4E3D2EFA981799FDF5Cand setting up it on C:\Program Files\Java
Add system variable JAVA_HOME.
Variable Name: JAVA_HOME
Variable Value: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_14

Setting up apache tomcat5.5

Download apache-tomcat-5.5.25.exe from http://tomcat.apache.org/ and setting up it on C:\Tomcat 5.5.
Run tomcat5.5 from C:\Tomcat 5.5\bin and check whether OK or NOT by entering http://localhost:8080. If everything is fine then it will display Tomcat page for administrator.

Setting up Eclipse SDK 3.2.2

Download wtp-all-in-one-sdk-R-1.5.3-win32.zip from http://archive.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R1.5/R-1.5.3-200702082048/ and extract in to your desired location.
Start eclipse.exe and choose the correct jre and tomcat server by following steps.
Select windowàpreferencesàJavaàInstalled JREs, Add JRE and make sure name and location are as follows:
Name: jre1.5.0_14
Location: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_14
Again select windowàpreferencesàJavaàServer, Add server runtimes Apache Tomcat v5.5 and make sure Installed server runtimes are as follows:
Name: Apache Tomcat v5.5
Tomcat installed directory: C:\Tomcat 5.5
JRE: jre1.5.0_14

Building Struts 2.x application with Eclipse
1. Download struts2-blank-2.0.11.zip and unzip it.
2. Create new web application from FileàProjectàWebàDynamic Web Project. Name the project “struts2tutorial”.
3. Copy the entire .jar file from struts2-blank-2.0.11/WEB-INF/lib to struts2tutorial/WebContent/WEB-INF/lib.
4. Create pages folder to store .jsp pages in struts2tutorial /WebContent folder by FileàNewàFolder.
5. Create “index.jsp” in Struts2new/WebContent folder by FileàNewàOtheràWebàJSP.


6. Create “HelloWorld.jsp” in Struts2new/WebContent/pages folder.

5. Create package “net.roseindia” on Struts2new/src folder and create “Struts2HelloWorld.java” in the new src/net/roseindia folder.

6. Create “struts.xml”
7. Modify web.xml of struts2tutorial/WebContent/WEB-INF

8. Create struts.xml file on struts2tutorial/src and struts2tutorial/build

9. Select project properties and show “Apache Tomcat v5.5” as server runtime and “struts2tutorial/build/classes” as Java Build Path.
