There is no such MVC1 and MVC2.We have to call them as Model I and Model II but not MVC I and MVC II.

well guys it's a MVC topic not Struts so comment relating the topic.

It would be nice if this tutorial is expanded to include various examples from PHP, RoR and other framework's in language to tell how MVC is used and the directory structure is maintained so everyone can have a deeper understanding.

Main difference between in Model1,encapsulate the presentayion logic and business logic.
But in Model2 we can separate the presentation logic and business logic.

I'm under training and we are using struts now to develop our projects. My concern is that how quickly can one develop an avg. project using the MVC? Are there any IDE other than Eclipse SDK?

According to my knowledge
There is no MVC1 and MVC2 design pattern , there is only MVC design pattern is there and Model1 Model2 Architecture check once.
