Limitations of Linux.

No doubt, Linux is an excellent alternative of Microsoft Windows in
terms of Desktop or Server based operating system. But it has also some limitations like every
one have. It is highlighted that Linux is free of cost if you download it from
the iso-image of various distributions, or one time investment if you
purchase it from the Linux vendors, it is true, but not up to a great extent.
The truth is that Linux is not every time free. It is more costly when it is
used for the small business, because there is no use of more open source
software in their business. They need some extra software that are not
included in Linux package. For updating and maintenance, it also require some
charges.
Another disadvantage is that Linux has more then three hundred version and
all version can not be installed in a single computer system.
Installation is one of the biggest problem in Linux. For installing a
distribution of Linux , it needs a different type of installing criteria,
which becomes the reason of problems. Desktop/ ThinkPad / Macintosh all sorts of
computer have their own different installing Linux procedures. Each
distribution has its own installation programming, which is extremely hard to
learn for every version. Proper tutorial materials are also not available
for each and every distribution.
Different sorts of processor also have different types of
installation process. It is also difficult to learn all of them. Many times
it creates problem in installing in a single attempt.
Many Linux user complains that Linux does not support some software in deep.
This create the problem. Some times Linux creates technical problems with Microsoft's Commerce Server products
as the user complains.
None is perfect in this world, at last we can say there are more chance to
improve Linux Desktop/ Server Operating System, if all the distributors shake
hand all together. Then it will be cheaper too.
