The release candidate is out to anyone who wants to test and know more about the next release, also we wish that you report any error or bugs found while using the release candidate version. The GoblinX 1.3 rc01 uses the same kernel from GoblinX Premium, it means you can use all extra drivers from the premium edition on it. Some of the changes were already implemented on GoblinX Mini and GoblinX Premium.

About the GoblinX

GoblinX is a Live-CD that is based on the excellent Slack ware distribution. It is directed towards those users who appreciate quality applications and a workspace that is both practical and beautiful. GoblinX contains some of the most often used and praised applications for Linux. GoblinX is a completely operational Linux system contained on one CD-ROM and it runs from any CD-ROM drive, without requiring the installation.

Advantage of the GoblinX live CD

The GoblinX LiveCD is not like other around the world, it has its own advantages and we secure you will like to use it, you are going to have fun and become a fan.

The GoblinX has support for FIVE different languages such as french, portuguese, spanish, deutsch and english, and those languages are very easy to be set, just need a word typed at boot prompt. If you want to start using english just press "enter", or type go.de for deutsch, go.es for spanish, go.br for portuguese and go.fr for french.

The Goblin Premium

The GoblinX Mini Edition is a son of GoblinX and contains only XFCE as windows manager and GTK/GTK2 based applications. The edition is indicated for those users whose want to remaster the distro and also those with difficulties to download more than three hundreds of megabytes, original size of GoblinX Main distro.

The Main Changelog of this release: Added Gnome Terminal, Leafpad, Conky and VTE, Removed Tuxpaint, Abuse, Bygfoot, Gedit and other apps, Added option to use liveupgrade from RAM memory (toram), Added add2mo, installmo and mo2tgz scripts, Added gocups cheatcode to start cups, Added password question to use with adduser cheatcode, Added a hdload option to insert automatically modules found on harddisk, Added acerhk, fsam7400, omnibook, rfswitch, rt2400 and spca5xx to kernel, Removed kernel from base.mo and create a module for it (kernel.mo), Upgraded several packages, Upgraded Firewall, Upgraded Kernel (2.6.15) and UnionFS, Corrected mkisofs.exe and added cygwin1.dll, Added Slax's Newrootpass, debug and dhcpc ideas.

GoblinX is available as an ISO image of the CD. Burn it with your favorite cd-writing software and then boot from cd-rom. You might want to check your BIOS to assure it's set to boot the CD prior the disc, and maybe try first using a CD-RW to test. Don't forget to check md5sum before burn the cd.
