hi friend,

Try System.gc() may this will helpful for you.
We can define null as key/value pair for HashMap. Because HashMap allows for the null value for key/value pair.
To say which one is better between ArrayList and Vector is little bit difficult because both is useful in different conditions such as Vector should be used where thread-safe operation is required whereas the ArrayList should not be preferred to use in thread-safe operations. But to the performance point of view ArraList is better than the Vector because ArrayList methods are unsynchronized whereas the methods of Vector are synchronized. And the performance of synchronized method is costlier.
